This is an entry level option.

Work Flow 1

  • Customer visits website.
  • Searches for books
  • Looks at book details
  • Clicks on order book
  • Form opens where user enters Name, email address and mobile number.
  • Customer submits form. Info gets stored in database, mail is sent to customer and seller.
  • Seller and customer communicate with each other, seller collects payment from customer and sends books to customer.
  • Seller can keep track of each transaction from the Admin module.

Work Flow 2

  • Customer contacts seller, specifying name, book id and quantity for books.
  • Seller and customer communicate with each other, seller collects payment from customer and sends books to customer.
  • Seller can keep track of each transaction from the Admin module.

Option 2

This is a mid level option. This contains all facilities of Option 1 + some additions.
Extra facilities provided are as follows:

  • Customer registration and login
  • Customer shopping cart
  • Calculating customer bill based on books + shipping charges. Displaying bill to customer.
  • Courier charges for various Indian states, and other countries can be managed by seller with Admin panel.
  • Weight of books can be managed from Admin panel.

The advantages of registration are as follows:

  • Get information like Name, Phone number and email Id of customer. This can be used to contact customers later ook
  • Customer convenience – Once a customer enters details like address, he does not have to enter the details everytime he wants to buy a book.
  • Customers get a shopping cart, so they can put books in the shopping cart and buy all books together.

Addition to work flow

  • Customers add books to shopping cart.
  • When customer decides to check out, he is shown the total bill including shipping charges.
  • Customer clicks ok. A copy of the bill in printable format is sent to seller and customer.
  • Seller collects payment from the customer and ships books according to the bill.

Option 3

Payment gateway integration.

In the above two options, the seller has to manually collect payment from the customer. This can be a tedious process. The payment process is made simpler by integrating a payment gateway with the shopping cart. With integration of payment gateway, customer pays online and the money is deposited in the sellers account directly. Seller does not have to wait for the money. Seller can directly ship the order as soon he receives it. For the customer, especially foreign customers, paying online is a easier option, as they can pay in their own currency ($) and payment gateway will automatically convert the payment to Rs. Also the interaction between buyer and seller is minimized and facilitates sale to customers in different time zones.
